I’m planning to watch the first two hours. Then I will probably have to pay a little more attention to the horse show where I will actually be in person. Lol.

Looks like 169 to start? Could be a shorter day than typical?

Why only 168?
I remember watching nearly 300 (an awful year).

I remember one year with I think 312 in the class.

Plus they used to hold that PHA medal final class after the USEF medal finished for the day. That was quite a marathon.

If I remember correctly, USEF limited the numbers since there were too many entries and it was thought that it might be too easy, at end of the qualifying period, to make the finals. USEFis inviting the top 75 riders from the West and the 75 top riders from the East.

I think there is an invitation extended to winners of certain select competitions but I can’t find that part of the rule.

Does anyone know where to find the number of points needed to qualify from each state?

I remember when you needed to win a certain number of classes before they went to the point system. And there would be the occasional sad story of someone who was second 20 times without ever actually getting a blue ribbon. That would stink.

After a quick glance at the list of qualifiers, it looks like there were about 200–210 who got enough points to get in this year. Presumably some of them decided not to attend for various reasons.

I think this is what you are looking for, but it is for 2025.

Yes, that was it. Thanks!

Where can I find the order of go?

See post 1. It’s been updated with the order of go.

Yeah, I was sneaky and didn’t mention I updated.

I’ll post the course map when I find it tomorrow but don’t expect it before 6:30 or the dog finishes walking, whichever happens first. As always, I’ll make enough waffles for anyone who shows up at my front door for the watch party.

@supershorty628 are you watching or what’s your excuse this year?

I am usually an occasional commenter on these threads during indoor season, but will be photographing a horse show myself tomorrow. I’m hoping to be home in time for the second round or testing or whatever this final asks for

Hopefully this dashboard will be updated throughout the day: https://medalfinals.stallinfo.net/dl/6471c6

Also, if anyone else likes to print the order, I found these images easier to print:

If you use this order of go, which I think is the same one in the OP’s first post, you can click on the horse’s number to see the horse’s name as well as the owner and the trainer.

I just read COTH’s commentary and if I watch at all its just the final round. I’m not willing to waste an entire day watching hundreds of rounds. I don’t have the stamina the rest of you guys have.

Great resource, thanks! Added the dashboard link to the first post.

“Stamina” is a word. It’s nicer than “lunacy,” which, well, here I am doing this again.

I used to go every year and watch the whole thing in person. Always took a few students too, especially if they wanted to compete the next year. I trained a few that got through to the second round back in the 90’s. And a ribbon winner once
