25+ juniors at ODH today!

It was an amazing turnout! Children and horses and ponies of all sizes. Not the best hunting day, but enough action to satisfy. Third field got the best view of a fox, first field saw a bear!

I have a pony leased out to a child who might have been there

I was there!

I was car following and managed to do some gates even! I counted 80+ riders and I gotta think there were more kids than that. The ones riding with staff rode like the wind! Great scenting conditions and lotsa smiles. So cool to see those ODH hounds leaving the deer alone when 2 bucks jumped up right where they were. Wow! And that pack has great voice too so what a pleasure to sit on a hill and watch the parade! There were 3 yr olds, 4 yr olds and all but one rode independent. One child was led. Oh and some of those ponies were such good packers! Never saw a tear! I saw a kid on a pony I swear I just wanted to take home…white super small pony, OMG! Cute! Cute!
I wanna come back as a junior someday on a pony like that…!!:yes: Saw Huntersrest there too. She’s so elegant on her classy tb!!

And I’d come after going to a Warrenton Meet at Clover Hill to watch THEM move off with their field of 30 or so. They met earlier. The meets are maybe 8-10 miles apart. They’d hit just before I left after 30 mins without anything up. Great watching & listening meets both were. PERFECT for car following.

2 packs, 2 hunts, one great day!!!

It was a fun day, if slow. Nice to see Wglen and everybody. And nice to be out on such a grand late fall day.

That is a great turnout! I love seeing juniors out in the hunt field.

Thanks to ODH for letting us join them. What pretty country! Could anyone tell me who the photgraphers were at the Junior meet?

just my 2 sense!

Most photogs were moms & dads IMHO. I saw/talked with some moms with 12 inches of lens’es on their camera’s! Yikes! I mean it was a plethora of camera equipment! On any given hill; there were 6-8 folks w/big lenses snapping away. Somebody has to be able to share with you!

McClanhan was there

taking pics, should have them on website some time this week. Also Sandra Forbush took a bunch.

Pooch McClanahan was shooting, as was Susan M. Carter.

I can’t wait to see pics!

I took my daughter out last week for her first outing. She had a blast until the pony jumped a ditch… We ended it after that. As we were trekking back to the trailers though we heard the hounds in full cry and she begged to go back.

Glad it didn’t scare her off. Here are a couple of pics from the Thanksgiving hunt.

We’re having a junior day next Sunday - more pics to come!
