Possibly the oldest saddle ever found was recently discovered in the grave of a woman in China. It’s probably a Stubben Siegfried. 
Interesting stuff though and the sort of rare news one can actually enjoy reading.

The fact that it’s a woman’s saddle does not surprise me. She had it tucked away carefully and then buried with her. Yep, she was a saddle hoarder. She probably had three others that she kept around ‘just in case’ they fit her next horse…

By the size, the culture and history around it and the fact it was placed between her legs? Just a guess.
