The fact that it’s a woman’s saddle does not surprise me. She had it tucked away carefully and then buried with her. Yep, she was a saddle hoarder. She probably had three others that she kept around ‘just in case’ they fit her next horse…
Although I’m sure you wouldn’t happen to know anyone like that.
How can they tell what it was. Looks more like an old baseball mitt?
By the size, the culture and history around it and the fact it was placed between her legs? Just a guess.
