I LOVE grapenuts. They are so good with bananas, or blueberries, or strawberries.

BUT I love your joke too. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

How about,ā€¦ Raisin bran

Grapes Nuts are one of the foods I miss having to avoid wheat!

YES!!! I will suffer the upset stomach and the aftermath for one box a year. The great thing about grapenuts, is that it really doesnā€™t go stale. and if it does, can you really tell???

I really like to let mine get soggy

There was a stint where I had kept a box at work because they were my snack. I noticed that there was something like 90% of daily recommended iron in them, and commented on it to the Lab manager. We then proceeded to EXTRACT the iron out and it most certainly stuck to the magnet!!

Sadly my first thought is so that he will have the means to off the poor horse when it is time

It would look so noble, dont you think?

That will bring in the GFM $$ for realz

And blackberries! My sister turned me on to the fact that you donā€™t notice the seeds in such a crunchy cereal.

Remember how back before microwaves there was an ad, or maybe a note on the box, to heat up the Grape-Nuts and milk? IIRC it made them less crunchy.
Like nuking Bran Buds now with my oatmeal.

I do not! I was shocked to learn AFTER college that microwaves weā€™re more of a newer technology when I was very young

went off topic why?

This was a horse welfare thread.

New posts signify more horse welfare.

Maybe chit-chat could go to a chit/chat thread?

Admittedly, I considered the same thing. Hope that instead heā€™s just fixinā€™ to shoot rattlesnakes and jackalopes.

Or maybe heā€™s paranoid that some pro-horse person is going to attempt to rescue Falcon.

That was the one.

You canā€™t expect us to read such scorn for a favorite cereal and not stand up for it!

I donā€™t know. Maybe someone would do it out of concern for Falcon; maybe they think Falcon is a delicate flower of a horse and that one of their sturdy ranch horses would be okay, maybe they donā€™t care that much about this particular horse they have, maybe they want a little fame, maybe no one would do it.

People mystify me sometimes. Often.

ETA: Maybe money and/or greed could motivate someone who sees Falcon as considerably more valuable than whatever he saddles Zero with, or someone could rent Zero a horse while charging to board Falcon, making money on both transactions while having Falcon as collateral. Win for everybody, except for Zeroā€™s new mount, who may prove to be much less agreeable than Falconā€™s been. Heehee.

Let me try to steer back:
Wishing Cereal saddlesores that will feel like a pantload of grapenuts.
Non- soaked grapenuts :smiling_imp:

@hoopoe That is a very chilling thought.
Lord, please save Falcon from the horror this would most certainly be.

Very good blending of topic and not-topic, 2DogsFarm. And I wouldnā€™t worry about Zero having that in mind. People do that to keep an animal from suffering. Do you really think his ā€œmindā€ would work that way? Especially planning far ahead. No, he really seems to expect his vehicle to keep on running and running. A pinto Energizer bunny.

Fruit Loops?

Or, if he actually makes it to the mountains, heā€™ll be a Frosted Flake.

Someone should slyly convince him to trade Falcon for a mule. A smart, savvy molly mule. And then, as a ā€œfree gift with purchaseā€ add a donkey to the mix for his pack animal. Thatā€™d teach him.

Local folks arenā€™t going to help him if heā€™s found to be bothering cows. Cattle are precious commodity in that part of the country, messing with cattle (even to make them run away) will get him in a whole heap of trouble.

And no one in their right mind will give up a good horse to a guy whoā€™s going to do that to it. If they think falcon looks bad, no way will they take a good using ranch horse. Maybe theyā€™d trade him an old dirt bike to save the horse.
