I saw that & was coming here to post the new info.
I’m heartsick thinking about the state both horses are in & the total lack of any care Asswipe is providing.
I hope - sad as it is to think about - when Falcon goes down, fuckwad is riding him & gets badly hurt.
I know, unkind thought, but deserved.

If he’s “having a beer with the mayor” then so am I.

There was zero interaction going on, although I did notice the deep, “Awwww,” Idiot uttered for effect after gulping his beer. What an absolutely loathsome human being.

In some dark corner of his I Don’t Give an Actual Cr*p About these Horses brain, I think he’s roughly calculated that the two animals can manage to drag themselves to his final destination with his current level of deplorable care.

Yea, the AAhhha after the gulp of beer is nauseating.

I had to post it, its so unbelieveable.

Exactly. Those two guys know each other and are talking. Yahoo is sitting down at their table, and they probably don’t even know that he is filming from his freaking hat.

I wonder what the laws are about that where they are.

So … he was allowed to pass, again? Still “not bad enough”?

Maybe somewhere in this last stage of journey there is a stricter standard that will be applied.

If each of these sheriffs/investigators could at least share their own assessment of how bad the animals looked, and explain why they are still unable to stop him, that would take some of the glory away from this last leg to “arrival”. Even better to post video of the interaction.

And maybe assembling that information can help some efforts to make standards more strict … although again, this is county by county, in the U.S.

Fingers crossed that some sheriff somewhere can seize those animals and let that be the great final episode of the journey.

According to The Mare Stare (I found her real name) on the FB group, Cereal told the sheriff that gaited horses look like they are lame when they walk. And yes, they let him go. She keeps say, “the sheriffs are not horse-y.” then when you call them you request someone with livestock exp.

I am begining to feel like they are doing this just for the likes, shares and staying relevant.

And I hate to think his How Much Longer calculation will go horribly wrong.
Falcons injury - if truly so infected it has a smell - will catch up & he’ll become so lame even Pussmuffin will be unable to ride, or he’ll go down.
Or Pete will.

I’ve seen a young (6yo) horse die from the stress of being forced to walk with a colic for hours.
It might have been a torsion that ruptured, but he went down & was gone in seconds.
Might be the best these 2 can hope for :sleepy:
Then butthead can get meat price, IF he can haul the bodies to a processor. :rage:

The story of these horses needs to be told.

I so wish I were indepentdently wealthy and had endless time! I’d try to interview every person who had contact with him and his horses. Especially representatives of LE.

I wonder how much of the smell is just dirty, sweaty horses who haven’t had a proper bath since the journey started.

While I don’t in any way condone what he’s doing, I take any updates on the horses’ condition with a grain of salt since those outraged with his treatment of the horses are likely to interpret any sights or smells in a way that shows the maximum amount of mistreatment.

He’s obviously not caring for the horses properly, and the horses’ feet looks awful, but I’m wary about assuming there’s an infection from one report of a bad smell.

The 7/20 report from a woman who spent 20 minutes around him at a campground also reported a very bad smell. She said it wasn’t normal horse smell, and seemed horse-savvy enough to know; she reported which leg Falcon was limping on.

And that was a week ago.

Pepper had an infection and I could smell it. In his body not in his hoof. The vet actually just came for a chat, so was there immediately and gave me antibiotics. He said if that had not happened, the next day I would have been able to smell him before I could see him.

Posted on his IG stories
I did not screenshot the one with falcons laying flat out.

I zoomed in the best I could while trying to not get the image too pixelated.

I think so much that Falcon has something major going on…and this is the first real picture I’ve seen of Pete and WTH… gawd these poor horses and so much sadness that nobody spoke for them in a real capacity this whole trip.

Pete might have hit that point where he won’t lie down because he knows he might not be able to get back up. Look at the forearm muscling. His hind end is shot.

I’m seeing a lot of muscle and no reserves on both horses.

A performance-conditioned horse in good health may at times look lean and even ribby. But their coats just shine with health. The coat gleams, the color is deeper. And the self-carriage and air of the horse shows how good they feel.

People remark spontaneously “Wow your horse is so beautiful!” even if it is a plain-color, average horse. Just from the vibrant energy radiating from the horse.

The dull coats and droopy demeanor on both of these horses tell the story, just imo.

It is very dispiriting to think how fantastic both of them could look with proper care and handling.

One of the mare stare’s recent videos shows both horses’ feet, deliberately, with Knucklehead jumping in front of the camera, apparently trying to block the view. Although he could be just posing? :sunglasses::crazy_face:🤷 Pete looks to have one shoe and three very short feet, with hardly any heels. It’s Kellogg, Idaho; they’re tied to a bicycle rack.

My 3 are basically Pasture Puffs, with a rarely-ridden horse, decorative pony & infrequently-driven mini
But they positively GLEAM.
& Not due to my grooming skills, I rarely pick up a brush :smirk:
A non-horsey friend who visited asked what I feed because she wants shinier hair :smirk:
I told her BOSS & she’s trying it for herself

So, to me, the dull coats point to crappy diet & complete lack of any grooming. Ever.
The lack of a complete set of shoes for Pete is distressing.
That a rank smell is issuing from Falcon points to something festering.
@Night_Flight woman who reported smelling infection was aware of a difference from “normal horse smell” .
Infection can’t be mistaken for anything else.

Ah, so many distressing things.

Poor Pete, the hoof with the (apparent) shoe is long and overgrown; with the other three being so short, it’s got to be really unbalancing and stressful on an already-stressed older body. Sigh…

Perhaps somebody in that area should show up with a wad of $100 bills and offer a quick sale to him, “as is.” He simply isn’t going to take slaughter prices for the horses and he isn’t really going to get those 5-figure prices he’s asking either. Perhaps a pile of bills in the range of 5-7 or 8K immediately might tempt him, along with probably a nondisclosure agreement unfortunately.

I agree that while the horses obviously haven’t been taken care of and there may be/probably are underlying complications, their overall condition is far from what it takes for a horse to be seized or him to be prosecuted by AC.

Maybe pandering to his evident greed is the best answer at this point.
