4 day horse show in Katy, TX next week?

Are you kidding? The hairdresser in Dallas BROKE THE LAW, All hair salons and barber shops were still subject to a state ordered shut down and she defied the law and opened early. While I can empathize with everyone who has lost their jobs, what makes her so special, and above the law? There is no way on earth you can cut and style hair and maintain a 6 foot distance from your client.

I just read today that the salon owner in question applied for and received $18,000 in federal Paycheck Protection program loans. This was revealed during the court hearing. She claimed that she"didn’t know what to do with the money." So, I’m not buying the hair salon owner’s story. Millions of people have lost their jobs and/or had their income reduced due to Covid19 government mandated shutdowns.

What makes this salon owner, or any other business owner above the law?

As for horse trainers who are charging clients more for board because their income is reduced due to show cancellations, all I can say is that only in the horse industry is it somehow acceptable to charge for services not provided. Many peoples income has been reduced, and guess what, you find a way to reduce expenditures or supplement your income. How many clients have also had their income reduced due to Covid19? My dentist had to close his office, as did every other dentist in the state except for true emergencies, does that mean when I go in for my 6 month check up he charges me for a service that I don’t receive, say a filling that I never needed?

Seriously, none of us are exempt from the havoc that this Pandemic has caused, some have been harmed more than others.

I am hoping that quote was taken out of context. Hard to know what the actual conversation was but I would hope it was in reference to flattening the curve in order to not overwhelm the hospital system. People need to remember that flattening the curve was the original reason/justification for all the Stay At Home orders.

I read this and while I agree with something’s, other things (like the no indoor warm ups, extra sanitation, etc) were not true. But I wouldn’t expect anyone to say anything negative in a COTH article.
