4-Star horse trailer VIN lookup??

Hi all -

I have a friend who has a 1999 4-Star GN w/ LQ’s trailer that she needs to sell. I have the VIN on it (took a photo of it) but it does not show up in any free search I do. Any sites that I can go that will work? Or any suggestions to find out more about? She wants to list it as soon as possible and wants to make sure she’s asking a fair price (she is not a horse person and it was given to her from an estate sale - she has no use for it).

Thanks!

Why do you need a VIN lookup on a trailer if you already know the year and model? Looking to see if it wrecked? That doesn’t usually show up on Carfax.

Just call 4 Star if you need more information on the trailer itself. If you are concerned about prior ownership, and want to verify who it’s registered to, then you should be able to take it to local PD/Sheriff’s office or a State Patrol office, and request a “VIN verification.”

Just call a 4Star Dealer and they should be able to give you a ball park price range based on the age and condition it is in.

I am guessing that she doesn’t have and would like to get a Title. Some states require one to register a trailer, while other states don’t even register them.

Thanks all….

I did call 4-Star and they don’t have a record of it based on the VIN I gave them which was right off the trailer. She asked for the last five digits which usually tells them something - unfortunately it came up as a 6-horse trailer which would only be possible if they were mini’s or very small ponies. It’s a 2+1 GN with LQ’s and side ramp though the stall up front has been modified so it’s small. I’ve done a ton of searching online and prices are all over the place for comparable trailers so it’s tough to find a realistic price to ask.

If you go to this site you should be able to get a ball park price of what you should ask. Do a search for 4star with similar features and a few should come up.
