A friend gave me a ton of 4 ft boards. I’m trying to decide what I want to make with them… a new shed? A new mounting block? Shelves for the garage?
I think the lengths vary between 4ft and 7ft. Most of the wood is 4 ft long, 2 inch thick planks.

Well, what do you need?
How wide are they? 2" x ? x 4’?
2"x4"x4’.
You can never have too many garage shelves. I made some with some leftover 2x4 scraps and a 2x6 I had laying around.
They would make a nice little coop to jump and/or use as filler for a jump. That’s what I did with mine… with a 2X4 frame, slanted in both directions.
What do you need? I would build shelving or a pretty saddle stand. Maybe a small jump or two.
What wood are the boards? Cedar, pine, fir, oak?
Are they pressure treated?
I used a mix of different types of 2x4 cutoffs to build this stand for my anvil.
I always build jumps or fillers with my random pieces of wood. Or obstacles for the track for my horses.
Do you have a barn already? That’s the correct size for a 12ft stall front with the stall door in the middle.
I thought of building a stall but I’m thinking I would have to get a permit first. I can make a shed without a permit as long as I apply for a permit exception. Then move the hay to shed and that will open up an extra stall.
Not sure if I will get it done this spring. It may end up being put off until next fall… I’ll see how busy the next few weeks get.
In today’s news, I think we are getting a puppy! Possibly. Still have to do a meet and greet.
