$500 just to look? WTF?

Huntertwo, quite possibly we do know each other. I’m ghostrider58 on the other board I frequent, although for some reason I couldn’t use that one here. It was unavailable, although I’ve never seen the other, thieving scoundrel post on here who took my name!!!

I got nuthin’ ta hide! I dare someone to steal my identity. They’ll bring it back with apologies, and a sympathy card!!!

I don’t get this…

Mares in Foal
We operate a breeding facility with four (4) producing stallions. Our broodmares are pastured with our stallions. Occasionally a new worker or visitor to our premises may leave a gate open and a mare not intended for breeding may make it into the pasture with a stallion. While we do everything in our power to prevent these situations from occurring, nature will in some cases prevail…and occasionally we have had mares that were sold to us as “open” turn out to be bred or find that they have gotten in foal while here.

 What visitors??? They make it very clear they want no one around!:o

Hmmmm, you’re in WA

I bet I can guess where your horsey came from

It’s their attempt to mask an indiscriminate breeding operation. Sorry but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out: if you leave mares with stallions, foals will happen. If you don’t have a secure enough facility to ensure that stallions stay away from mares, foals happen.

Again…: if they have soooooo many horses available from Canada, WHY DO THEY CONTINUE BREEDING!?

I just had to stop reading…

…the more I read, the more I had to keep picking my chin off the floor

Doh…silly me

My favorite is the nasty comment about 40 year-old women. Hey! I resemble that remark!

So who is heading to Bumpass this weekend with digital camera for our viewing enjoyment?

I tried google-world for the address, but the satelite picture is a little fuzzy. Any other sites available to do a “fly-over”?

Bumpass is almost 3 hours from me (did I mention I live waay out there?), so that’s out. I did Mapquest on how far it would be to do a “drive-by”, but with the cost of gas, uh-uh, no way!

Going back to read more later, but for now:

"When payment is tendered for a horse, we will retreive that horse from pasture and place it in a stall. There it will stay until the shipper arrives. Stall board for horses awaiting shipment is $10/day. If you would like your horses feet trimmed during that time the charge is $85. If you would like the horse groomed on a daily basis, or prior to shipment, the charge is $35/session.

If you waive the above services, then please do not compain about the “condition” that your horse arrived in. While many sellers of horses include these services at no charge, these services are not reflected in the sale price of our horses. Our horses are priced such that customers may choose whether or not they want to “pay” for services."

So if, like so many other people, it happens that the shipper doesn’t get there for a month, the horse remains in the stall and you pay another $300 board and $85  for a trim?

As well, DO NOT COMPLAIN about the “condition” of the horse upon its arrival? Um, wtf? I’m surely complaining if I spent $5,000+, you won’t allow a PPE and it is a scruffy POS.

ROAD TRIP!! Shall we make it a party??

But wouldn’t we have to pay $500 each to visit?

Maybe if we said we are not coming to look at horses, but to look in amazement at the crazy lady with the ^$(^)$*# sales policy…?

See, this is why I want to know what an actual person has actually paid for one of the horses? Have they actually even sold one where they charge all these fees?

I think I have that whole paying board while waiting for shipper thing whupped! You can send the shipper with the $ to buy the horse - Oh wait, they might think the buyer was actually picking up the horse himself, so you’d be assessed a fee for that. AARRRRGGG! I just can’t get my little mind to come to the end of the fees… Do they ever stop? Is there a grand total at the end?

We won’t be able to get in. The gates are kept locked to keep out those such as us…

Sure you could! Just BS your way in and then at the end (or whenever they might bring it up) when they ask for the $500 check, act like you’re going back to your truck to get your checkbook and make a mad dash for it! Could be interesting if you have to deal with a latched gate at the entrance… passenger may have to do a running leap onto bumper and pull theirselves into the bed once gate has been opened and peel out of the driveway :stuck_out_tongue: Sounds like it could be fun!

Nah, we’ll just sit outside the gates on public property and picket - whoops, did I say that?.. I mean educate, their poor unsuspecting customers as they are allowed in

Oh, no you don’t! That’s been covered. You have to pay in advance via wire transfer.

ALL Farm Sales require a $500 nonrefundable deposit that will be applied to the purchase price of the horse you select. The deposit must be made via wire transfer prior to your visit or by personal check received at least 10 days in advance and while nonrefundable, the deposit is fully applicable to the purchase of a horse for up to one year.

Silly rabbit! Think you can trick a trickster?:lol::lol:

For that reason we charge a $100 trailer loading surcharge for those who intend to pick-up their horses themselves. We will happily assist you for up to one person/hr (i.e., 1 person 1 hr = 2 people 1/2 hr ea). If your horse loads in less than 1/2 hour with one person’s assistance, this surcharge will be refunded.

And if you need 4 people, you get 15 minutes for your $100.

Remember, I said BS your way in  drop them a call since you happen to be in the area cough cough It could be done if you’re charming enough

Charm is not one of my strong points!

Hey, I know my limitations. Besides, I’d be tempted to go all medieval on 'em once I was in the gate…

Would said charm involve something like this?

“Hi, I just won a big $50k jackpot at the casino and have always wanted a horsey even though I know nothing about them. Can you help me?”
