LMAO. Oh my goodness I miss that. Y’know, maybe I DO know her. There is only person I know personally, if you can call it that, that might have been alive in the 1800s. There is a little old lady that lives on one of our properties. She MUST be a least 100 and she drives around on one of those scooters and she’s usually drunk. She has flipped her scooter off the sidewalk on more than one occassion and survived. I think she just refuses to die!

In that case, she probably needs the $500 deposit pretty desperately. I’ll bet a good brew and scooter repairs can be pretty demanding on the pocketbook. I sadly admit though, the image of a 100 yr old lady rolling a scooter off a sidewalk did make me laugh. For some reason it made me think of the old lady on the “Courage the Cowardly Dog” cartoon. There’s a pic of him in my profile…your average grade horse, 3 nice gaits, jumps small X’s for now, leadline w/t horse too. Afraid of zippers and purple buckets. I’ll bet if he came straight out of a sporthorse breeding operation in canada, they could get no less than 15K for him!! :yes: :lol:

Mmm, the majority of the horse’s videos didn’t impress me, maybe it mostly because I was distracted by the riders posting on the wrong diagonal.

"Approximately 100 warmblood horses and ponies, from weanlings to made fox and show hunters, and dressage, event, and jumper prospects will be offered for sale."

…No mention if you have to pay the $500 fee to attend the sale…

THIS would be worth attending, just to experience the weirdness!

Alas, all the visitors will be letting the gate open so who knows HOW many more mares will get bred…

Newbie here, but someone posted a link to this and I had to post.

I did go to look at these horses when I was in the market, as a draft cross appealed to me. However. One quickly learns one’s lesson about word of mouth when viewing this farm…

This woman DOES exist and DOES have a “legit” farm in the Bumpass are of VA. She has lots of land (all eaten down), lots of horses (all looking like crap)…

She ships down a ton of PMU horses from the farms up in Canada. They usually come down in February, depending. Most of the time, they’re babies shoved in a stock trailer, driven straight through, and chased into a pen that’s probably the size of two or three birthing stalls put together. Ankle deep in muck (straw, mud, poop, you get the idea). She took us on a walk through the fields to see the other horses she had, mainly the ones that were 3 and up. You COULD NOT touch these horses. I went to pet one, just to say hi and see how they reacted, and as soon as you reached out, they all bolted. Nevermind the fact that there were 5 & 6 year old children in the field with us, she just laughed and kept going.

Some - scratch that, a select handful - of the mares really are nice looking and probably decent to buy. However, ALL of them needed weight, ALL of them needed work, ALL of them needed worming/teeth/shots/ you get the idea.

I wouldn’t buy a horse from this woman if you paid me. Upon further digging, she’s got a 50/50 reputation. Some people swear by her, others hear her name and go “OMGWTF” and hold up a proverbial cross.

I can’t believe she’s got the audacity to put up a $500 “non-refundable fee”. Half those horses aren’t even BROKE.

The stallions… ugh. Swaybacked, bony, nasty tempered (except for the pony stud in the field she let all the kids go into, he was so sweet, I think a Welsh cross?)… I’m ashamed to admit I’ve been to this place O_O

I am SO bummed that this lady is real. That this farm exists. I was ready to just nominate the creator of this joke for some sort of award! Like someone else said, I thought it was a “Whats wrong with this picture” gag (shows you how much I think about COTHers…I literally thought someone was clever enough to create this nightmare for our amusement!)…

Now, knowing that there really is a freak show like this it just sort of takes the fun out of reading the website.

Elon, I need the Argentinian “trainer”! I’m going to visit a farm in a couple of weeks (no non-refundable fee or locked gates), to see my dream horse. Black/white Pintabian gelding, 10 y/o, dead broke, for $3,000.00. And no, I’m not telling any of you vultures where this place is! Mine, all mine!!!

And the fact that not only have I been quoted, but directly addressed, I might actually be considered an Incredible Opaque now, as opposed to an Invisible! Ah, my status has come up ever so slightly!
