Had a chance to spectate for the first time, and put together a photo/video montage…lovely venue, it was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in the countryside!

Mother Nature couldn’t have been any kinder as sunny spring weather graced the 63rd Blue Ridge Hunt Point to Point races at Woodley Farm, in Berryville, Virginia. The event was packed with spectators, horse owners, trainers and race enthusiasts. Tailgates ranged from modest to magnifique, and families and friends enjoyed the races from their picnic spreads while children rolled down hillsides and climbed field stones. Boots, hats and tweeds were the fashion of the day.
Woodley Farm has been the home of the Blue Ridge Hunt Point to Point Race for the past 63 years. Traditionally, the Point to Point is always held in March, which offers an advantage for the trainers and owners. The Point to Point races usually serve as training grounds for young horses, and as a step stone for horses to move forward to sanctioned races, which involve larger purses. Once again, the Thoroughbreds demonstrated their need for speed, and their extraordinary heart as they flew over timbers!
