Good for him - but whoever goes by the name of Potato!

How long to do the 100 miles, anyone?

Anybody done this, it would be interesting to hear from you.

I worked at the Red Star treatment center for the Tevis Cup. I remember “Spud” and his mare coming through; can’t miss a guy with a mustache like his and that lime green HerbaLife jersey.

I don’t know what his official time was, but the race started at 5:30 am and he crossed the finish line sometime between 10 and 11 pm.

Well congratulations to him!

So I take it Potato is his given name and he is called “Spud” as a nickname by his friends?

I worked the Red Star Ridge vet check too!

Potato’s riding time was between 14 and 14-1/2 hours. About three hours are spent in gates to go and vet checks, so his total elapsed time as pointed out above was more like 17 hours. When I did the ride years ago my riding time was 17 hours 45 minutes.

Potato has a brother Rutabaga and a few other veggie family members. Watch the video of him trotting out his mare the day after the ride - wow!

Oh. Veggie relatives as well? How… unusual. :yes

None of my business of course , but are they all root vegetables?

Tipping my helmet to Potato again.

Prudence and Praus: Thank you! The volunteers were awesome all day, but folks at places like Red Star, where no one had crew, you guys were angels.

Our pleasure, Lisa. Congratulations on your finish!

Dittoes. It was my pleasure and I’m certainly glad I didn’t have to meet you being in the treatment center and all… Congrats on your finish, Lisa.
