A-1 Performance Sires has anyone used them?

I was wondering if anyone has used them before and what they thought about them?

I’ve used her service several times & it’s always been great.

Ditto

They sent me the wrong thawing instructions on a dose of frozen semen they sold me. They refused to replace the dose.

Sometimes they ship semen in the MVE vapor shippers - sometimes they don’t.

Had a clerical error where only half a dose (four straws) were sent as a whole dose. Only because we had used the stallion before - we inquired to the state stud about how many straws made up a dose (eight). They did come up with another four straws once presented w/ the note from the state stud.

Superior Equine Sires

By far the best place to get frozen semen is Superior Equine Sires owned by Carol Austin. She is so great to work with and is a wealth of information. She knows bloodlines extensvely and can even help you with choices. She also has ALL of PSI stallions in her tanks all the time and several other big stallion stations as well. I’ve had trouble with every other place I’ve used for one reason or another.

Classic Sires is great.

A-1 performance has always had the best pricing which is why we use them.

A-1 has been great for us…

Me too. And I have gotten one pregnancy /livevfoal from each dose purchased from them

This is an old thread from 2010 but I’m looking for an update from breeders because I’m considering purchasing from them for the 2016 Season. Thanks!

Do be aware A-1 Sires has been under new ownership since last year. The new owner is an active rider/breeder and travels to Europe several times a year for stallion licensing. She is very knowledgeable about pedigrees and can make some wonderful suggestions. I think new customers will be very pleased, as she also is committed to keeping the prices low.

Also be aware that if it’s the listed owner named on the site, she’s the same one that fabricated a fancy WB pedigree for her draft/paint cross stallion (made him a Polish WB, I think?) and then sold breedings to him under that guise. There was a big, long thread about her shenanigans here. Just FYI.
