According to https://www.facebook.com/PhoenixEquestrianTeam/

“Deeply saddened of the passing of A Fine Romance, A Little Romance’s father. He has produced many beautiful babies that have grown up to be such super stars. Blue Eyes will miss you! Thank you to Fred’s owner Gail Parker Rogers for everything you do!”

Sad.

I just saw that too! Must have missed it earlier. How very sad for his family, our COTH Fred. More comments here.

Sad to read this but also not-so-sad because there’s always something to celebrate when a horse has had a long, wonderful, and accomplished life with caring humans always looking out for him. A life well-lived, human Fred and horse Fred.

Sad for human Fred to have lost such a wonderful horses, who I imagine was especially special to her. But certainly he left a fantastic legacy behind. As JER said, a life well-lived. Cheers.

My heart goes out to Gail. We have been able to follow Fred and all his “kids” thru Gail. What a great horse and what great memories he leaves us.

Heartbroken for Gail. He was truly a remarkable stallion.

Dreadfully sorry for Gail.

Oh no! I admired him for many years. I had a mare a couple of years ago that I wanted so badly to breed to him, but the stars never aligned to make that so.

Thank you, devvie, and everyone for your kind comments. I deeply appreciate your kindness.

I knew the day would come, but now that it has, I am devastated and heartbroken.
Overwhelmed with sadness and missing him.
I was with him from his first breath to his last, for 25 years.
He has been the greatest gift to me, and it has been my honour to have him in my life and be able look after him.
I take some consolation knowing that he did have a wonderful life.

I didn’t see this earlier, I am so sorry for the loss of this great stallion. I love TBs and was a great fan of Fred. You were blessed to have had such an amazing relationship with him, which only makes the loss more painful. My condolences to you and all who loved him.

I am so sorry to read this. I love Tbs and especially when they are so proven outside of the track. He has left a major mark on eventing…
RIP- A Fine Romance we will miss you. HUGS to Gail…

Thank you BAC and ivy.
I am heartbroken.

Do you have any of his offspring?hopefully to keep the line alive.

Thank you for asking, ivy62.
Fred always had more daughters than colts, so those beautiful mares are out there.
It is my hope that those daughters will be bred to outstanding stallions, and that his line will continue through them.
There is one full TB colt son, and one grandson out of his daughter who was a full sister to an Advanced eventer and a winning GP Jumper.
I have retired from breeding, but I hope that these two will also carry the line on.

Sorry for your loss Fred :frowning: So glad you brought his bloodlines into the sport horse world, and hopefully his offspring will continue to make him proud many decades to come!
