That is what I was thinking too!!

You can’t help but smile when you see him jump!! He is a really spectacular horse!

My retired GP mare is in foal to him, due in 2 weeks…

Watching that video put a huge smile on my face:) Great way to start out a Monday!

For those that were in attendance, what do you know about Cabachon?

Paul says right at the end: “There is only mistake with this horse… wrong owner.”

He is pretty impressive! I’d really like to know more about him.

Yep, the boy doesn’t have legs… he has springs! I’m sure he could jump the moon if you asked him to try it.

I LOVE HIM!!

So is he showing? Where, what level, or why not??

I have had 2 foals by him, love them!!

FOR THOSE WHO ASKED ABOUT BALOUS CAREER…

From the “Elite Stallions” website:
BALOU DE ROUET IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR JUMPING STALLIONS, CONSISTENTLY PRODUCING GOOD TEMPERAMENT, EXCELLENT MOVEMENT AND POWERFUL JUMPERS. SUITABLE FOR AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL RIDERS, HE SUITS ALL BUT THE SMALLEST MARES.
This stallion had the most offspring in the 2008 Bundeschampionate, (German National Championships) with 3 finalists in the 2009 event. He has over 35 approved sons including the Munich Licensing Champion , Balous Bellini.

A picture perfect career: after winning one young horse class after another and gaining marks up to 10.0 in his 30-day test, Balou du Rouet successfully competed at the 1.50m level. In 2005 he caught everyone’s attention by scoring the highest mark of 9.2 at the National Championships, making him one of Germany’s top 4 licensed stallions. His enormous jumping talent, combined with great elastic gaits and a fascinating charisma make Balou du Rouet an exciting choice for the breeders of sports horses. Once again, Balou du Rouet emphasises his dominant quality as a producer in type, elegance and movement, with numerous foals at many different auctions. He continuously produces finalists for the German foal championships - in 2011his foal Buenos Aires achieved the highest price of the 2nd day at the Zangersiede auction - 32,000 euros. His son Bakony was the most expensive foal at the Hanoverian auction, at 23,500 euros.

Offspring of Balou du Rouet have been approved at almost every stallion licensing, including BE BRAVO, who sold for €350.000 as the most expensive horse of the 2007 AOS auction. In 2011 his offspring doubled their lifetime winnigs to 267,000 euros, as his first crop started jumping internationally at the age of 8 - including Baloubetta du Soleil winning at Rotterdam; Horse Gym’s Balzaci winning in Leipzig; Best of Blou winning in Neustadt. The same year, his maternal half brother Cornet’s Balou won the Bundeschampionat for 5yr olds.
PS:

Hope this helps! If you would like to see some of Balous older offspring in the USA, feel free to check them out on my website www.sportingchancefarm.com , and my GB page…

Link to BLUP where you can find all stats, I think he was the most used stallion in Sweden (among the jumpers) in both 2010 and 2011. Probably because of his famous dad Casall La Silla (WC and maybe Olympic horse 2012 ridden by Rolf-Goran Bengtsson).

Owned by Ib Kirk (danish SO Katrinelund) and Norwegian WC/olympic rider Stein Endresens wife Kristin.

You´ll find lot´s of videos and pictures on google of Casall La Silla and Cabachon!

Absolutely adore him. Thank you for posting.
Covering our Guidam filly with him this year and wish I could fast forward 360 days.
I just think he is a 2 for one deal with such jump and superb movement. Bon Balou is testament to that and also Balloon who is with Shane Breen could easily do pure dressage.

My oldest Balou offspring, Babalou, is showing with a hunter trainer in New York and is currently standing #2 with USEF for Zone 2 in the First Year Greens.

I have his full sister in training in VT.

Great news HFSH!

Great news HFSH!! Photos please?
Our oldest Balou du Rouet, Athena SCF Ster (Balou du Rouet X Wanroij Preferent), spent the winter in Wellington (mostly schooling, and growing up). It is my understanding that she never had a rail, ever : ) There is a photo of her (big chestnut with tons of chrome) jumping in the International Ring, on my Facebook Page, and on our website… She will be showing the East Coast circuit this summer, so keep an eye out for her : )

Of special interest is that Athena was given a Ster predicate for her DRESSAGE ability by the KWPN Jury, but is an exceptionally scopey jumper!

DISCLAIMER, Athena was sold almost two years ago, so NO Advertising here : )

I’m really leaning towards breeding my mare to him either this year or next year. she is 16.2, by Rolls Royce, and out of a mare by Roemer. I think he would be the perfect match for her to produce a nice jumper.
