A new Flask Filler!

My husband just brought home a couple of new things to try. The best was the Evan Williams “Apple Orchard”. It was ok room temperature, but was divine with an ice cube. I could see it being really tasty on a cold day.

Speaking of cold days, TODAY WAS NOT!!! 90 in Oct in VA. The end of the week should be better.

I am a cradle to grave Port in the flask person…until yesterday. A friend shared this nom-nom. I will be hitting the store before Wednesday’s hunt!!

These both sound fabulous!

SLW,
I tried some of the Patron xo the other day, and OH MY that was heavenly!!

I do non-alc cider and spiced rum. Delish. You can never go wrong with straight Bailey’s!

Unless you’re hunting here in New Zealand in 30 degrees celsius  Bailey’s does not do well under those conditions - I know from experience.

also careful with homemade renditions of Irish Cream. You can shake it into butter on a long day…

Bailey’s Butter. Hmmmm. I make homemade bailey’s… May need to try that one intentionally…!

I like Irish Mist Liqueur in my flask.

Hmm…sounds like I really need to take up hunting!

Sounds great!

I had a cocktail at a bar last weekend that was Delicious and I thought would make a great flask filler:

House Infused Magpie Coffee Roasters Coffee Vodka, Amaretto, Lemon Zest, Lemon Bitters, Served Over.

It would be easy to make substituting store bought coffee vodka (they make such a thing these days).

Pear Port !!! Out-standing!! and makes ya ride bettah!!

Haven’t hunted in years, and when I did, such things would NEVER have been acceptable!

That said, if you can find it (small upstate NY distillery), Helderberg Meadworks Apple Mead is TO.DIE.FOR!!! I tried ice cube first, but think it’s MUCH smoother at room temp. Or flask temp… Carry on…

My mum used to hunt as a kid and would have hot ribena with brandy in it… She was about 11!!!

when I was a downhill skier I preferred hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps in my flask. or just schnapps with a sprinkle of cocoa powder works too. hic…

When I hunted, my favorite was The Godfather…whiskey and amaretto! Yum!

I enjoy and recommend the following:
cold days = Sicilian Kiss (amaretto and southern comfort)
really cold days = fireball whiskey
moderately chilly days = Sortilege (a Canadian whiskey distilled with pure maple syrup)
warm days - ginger beer (either alcoholic or non) with a touch of rye
hot days -limoncello, melon liqueur and a touch of vodka

Perhaps I have given this too much thought

Patron XO- who would have thought coffee and tequila would go well together?! It is amazing!

Very cold days: Is this why Fireball whiskey is regularly given out as free shots in local bars around here?
