As I’m not rich enough to afford a “moves like a dressage horse”, i just look for a 4 beat walk, a decent length of stride and freedom in trot, a good hind leg that freely steps under, a true 3 beat canter with good step under, and something with some natural balance to it. That’ll get you pretty much every where at lower levels at least.
On the flip side, I bought a “does NOT move like a dressage horse” and after a few years of correct dressage training I beat out 8 “moves like a dressage horse” warmbloods at 2nd level (rated show). Don’t under-estimate what a dedicated owner and good training can achieve. 🙂
That vid didn’t show much, but first impression was he’s tight and not much freedom of movement. But who knows. Crappy video.
