A One Horse Open Sleigh

I finally found a sleigh so we entered our first sleigh rally

1st time hooked to a sleigh
1st time in a crowded ring with everything from minis
(that can be terrifying to large horses)
to Fresians galloping by
not to mention all those sleigh bells!

My off track Stb was amazing! Even placing over seasoned competitors

Beautiful sleigh and handsome horse! We have a nice sleigh rally here in picturesque Victorian era Chautauqua Institution. These days it is dominated by draft teams because the draft horse club are the only ones who care enough to keep it going, but we used to get quite a few Standardbreds since there are race tracks in our area. It’s so nice to see a one horse open sleigh again. You got gorgeous photos for your memories too.

wow beautiful is right! I love standardbreds, every one I’ve met has a heart of gold. Big fan of the breed and would absolutely consider one for my next horse, especially now that I’ve an interest in driving.
