A Poem "We Three"

This was sent to me by a good friend, her grandfather William C. Austin wrote it years ago and it is published in a book “somewhere”. Interesting that she said he wasnt a horse person and obviously never hunted. Enjoy!

To mount ones horse and gallop away,
To the sound of the huntsmans horn,
To race at the heels of the pack in chase,
To witness the birth of the day.
The song of birds greeting the dawn,
The fading cry of the pack now gone.
The rustle of wings, the cry of the Jay,
The far away yelps of the pack at bay,
The misty carpet, the scented breeze,
The jeweled dress of dew on the trees,
The warm feeling of friendship betwwen us three,
The Master, my horse and me…

BRAVO !!!

Very nice

Would love to publish this in Covertside, the Magazine of Mounted Foxhunting. Can you PM me with more info? Friend’s name, for example?
