to post a ‘wanted’ ad on COTH?? I see the ‘for sale’ forums, but no “Help me I need a…” forum. I’m looking for a certain saddle and I’d like to be able to post without engendering ill will from the mods. Yes? No?
When you joined, you agreed to the forum rules which include NO ADVERTISING. Before you check “I agree” you should read & absorb every word you are agreeing to. You can read them here now:

Only way I can think of is buying an ad/post in the For Sale forum. That way COTH gets its’ money, so I don’t think they would care what you post. However, doublecheck the rules to be sure.

DOH, they do allow advertising for a fee- the OP was asking whether there is a way to post “wanted” the same way.
OP, why not post this in the “help” forum, and see what the mods have to say about it?

A “wanted” forum?
with a charge like the other classified sections?? Is there any chance of getting one, or can I buy a ‘wanted’ ad in the ‘for sale’ classified section? I don’t mind paying, I just want to be mindful of the rules.

I’ve seen plenty of ISO threads- I don’t see how that is a problem if you are asking where is the best place to find a… hard to find item?!? You can pm the mods also and ask if it is borderline or not.
Yes, you can place a “wanted” ad in the paid classifieds for $10–it’s the same process as placing an “available” ad there. Here’s a link to the classifieds FAQs, which also has links to pay through Paypal, etc.
We only allow very general wanted-type threads in the open forum–“What’s your favorite tack store?”; “Any suggestions for used saddle sellers?”–no specifics, sizes, etc., so it doesn’t serve as a wanted ad.
COTH has plans to revamp their overall classifieds system, so there may be new options in store soon, but for now, this is the system!
