Abandoned Arabian Stallions. Update post 77; Stallion 1 has lifetime home!

Hi COTH folks. Please cross post this info. If anyone could suggest Arabian forums for me to post this info, that would be helpful.

I would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word on these Arabian stallions. They were abandoned at a foreclosed property near Santa Rosa, California — about 1.5 hours north of San Francisco.

Facebook photo album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.385425311491635.101082.100000725092704&type=3&l=dbfd9d20ac

All four horses have lived the past 10 years in 24x24 pens without shelter or exercise, dental, hoof care, or worming. They need TLC. They are all halterbroke and friendly. We are told they are former show/breeding stallions from a large breeder. Registered names may be: Muscatin (1984), My Hi Stakes (1988 and son of Muscatin), My SX Superior (1984) and the last is unknown.

These stallions will be humanely euthanized by the lienholder if no homes can be found. I’m giving it a try, I know its a long shot. I can be reached at watermarkfarm1@yahoo.com or 707-544-7584 for more info. Thank you, Katie Moore

Oh my.

Sickening. Thanks for trying to help them. Here is a link to some Bay Area Arabian links, and part way down are some online forums.

Try contacting arabhorse.com.

The 1984 stallion rings a bell. He may be a *Muscat son.

Oh my, they all have such wonderful faces. Jingles they find a soft place to land and a pasture to run in, even if for a short while.

Thank you for the links!
Yes, Muscatin is a Muscat son.

I would greatly appreciate it if any of you who have memberships to Arab forums would post this info. Thank you.

There are also a lot of arabian peeps on the bayequest boards…I dont know how to cross post a link or I would put it on there.

Done…I posted it on the chat board as well as the rescue/rehome board on bayequest.

Posted on ABN as you requested.

Who is feeding them? What a sad state of affairs.

They are being fed daily by volunteers.

I should add that there are no papers, and we are going on what we were told are their names. It’s very possible the names are incorrect. Their original breeder/owner was supposedly a James Paetz (deceased).

It would be wonderful to find them a soft place to land, even if it’s just a few weeks of TLC, then put down…they have suffered a great deal.

I can’t help, but for ID you might try looking for freezemarks, usually on the right side of the crest. I know it used to be relativly common to freezebrand arabs and I have seen several with the marks.

Good Luck
Christa

If you need hay/feed for them while waiting for them to get placed, I can drop some off. Let me know what you need.

This brought tears to my eyes…if I lived on the west coast I would love to help out…hope someone gives these poor boys a nice pasture and good food and care to live out their last days in…

Wish I had more space to give one of these old guys a good home for the rest of their lives. Another stallion would just be too much. So sad :frowning:

Too bad they can’t put the owners in those pens.

Oh how sad. Stallion #4 is lovely and looks like he could make someone a nice riding horse if his temperament allows. Those poor old guys, I sure hope they get some love before they are euthanized. Unfortunately my house and yard are about the same size as their pens so I am no help.

I so hope they find homes! Thanks for helping them!

Aww poor guys. I have a soft spot for arabians. I would take one or 2 if I weren’t on the other side of the country.

Oh, that breaks my heart. They are really beautiful. Good thing I am not closer! I hope they find homes. Number four also caught my eye. Actually number one must have been stunning when he was younger.

Fingers crossed for these guys!!
