? about Bartville Harness Caveson Size

In looking at the measurements given in their catalog for the caveson sizes, they seem small for the actual nosepiece. all mine measure about 27" from the end of the buckle to the middle hole (which is where they measure from) and that is a Oversize caveson for Bartville but all the other measurements on their bridles concur with being a horse size.

So for those of you who have bought their bridles, did the caveson seem small in relation to the rest of the bridle?

Thanks!

I have two bridles from Bartville and do not notice and difference in the cavesson size compared to my other bridles. My biggest issue is that the cheek pieces tend to be a bit long for my horse’s head, contrary to other horse size bridles I have bought. It fits and the leather is awesome, definitely well worth the price.

I occasionally get up to Bartville and have purchased for other Coth’ers if needed. I’ve been pretty happy with the Bartville tack I’ve purchased. I have a horse with a horse sized crownpiece size but nose size is cob - it’s hard to fit him and they gave me a bridle set up for him at same price as a straight horse bridle. And…I would like to plug those beautiful rubber reins, wow. Really nice! For my arthritic hands.

I had Bartville do custom rubber reins for me! The stock they have of the chestnut/light brown reins is the bright orange rubber. I had them do light brown with another light brown color rubber on them. The colors match really well so it is not so obvious that the reins are rubber.

I have two bridles from Bartville that were half the price of other retail stores (retreadeventer is right - my custom was the same price as my stock bridle) and the leather is SO much nicer and softer.

I found the bridle ran small. I ordered horse size and the noseband and crownpiece were small, and the cheekpieces seemed fine. I even gave it to 2 friends whose horses usually take cob and they were too small for them too!

The Bartville people are GREAT to work with and I am going to exchange the pieces for longer, but if you are going to order DEFINITELY get their catalog and measure, they have detailed measurements in there.

Thank you everyone for the input.
