Foxx did all of the riding and stunts on his own horse, Cheetah, in the award-winning 2012 movie Django Unchained. In fact, when accepting the role, he insisted the director, Quentin Tarantino, find a role for his horse. In the movie, Cheetah is known as “Tony,” and he has a central role. Though a skilled rider, Foxx has admitted riding bareback at 28 miles per hour during shoots was scary, and that he even feared for his life at one point.

He also talked about his horse farm. I’m assuming his horses are separate from his daughters horses as the horse he was riding didn’t look like a high level jumper, it just looked like a nice, usable horse.

Do the Hadid sisters count?! They rode in jumpers (Gigi) and eq (bella) and it seems they were fairly good up until being supermodels took over. I think they still ride But just not as much since traveling the world takes up so much time

How could I forget? Tab Hunter was and is a very serious rider. If you read his autobiography, you’ll learn that he really wanted to be a professional equestrian more than an actor. I’m very into the Golden Age of Hollywood but even if you aren’t, I’d recommend Tab Hunter Confidential just to read about his love of horses and the horse world during the 1940s and 50s in the US from the perspective of someone who didn’t have a great deal of money, as was the case with Hunter before his acting career took off.

He also dated George Morris!

I remember Tab Hunter. In the (not so ) good old days, these actors would actually visit movie theaters for personal appearances. I saw him when I was a kid.

Terry Bradshaw-football player, sports commentator, actor, and has a huge horse business. If anyone watches Feherty on the Golf Channel, the Bradshaw episode showing the horse breeding is hysterical.

Has anyone mentioned Channing Tatum? I don’t actually know if he rides, but I know he & his wife have (a?) horse(s?). I seem to recall that they have at least one horse with a rescue story and there was an interview where he sounded absolutely smitten with it.

On a less charming note, I believe Zooey Deschanel also rides and is currently undergoing a lawsuit in regards to treatment of a horse she leased for a show situation.
