adjusting a kieffer

Anyone know who has the quickest and best results with adjusting a Kieffer in north america? Saddle in question is actually a jump saddle but since I’ve never actually seen another one like it, I figured I’d ask over here in dressageland where Kieffers are more popular

Get in touch with Ron Friedson in Connecticut … he is the Keiffer Dealer in the USA and they are certified in adjusting the Keiffers on a heat machine designed specifically for that. They can widen or narrow the tree and they can reflock to make further adjustments.

That was kind of my plan, I’ve just heard mixed reviews about them.

Call Patty Barnett in CT. She does it and I trust her. I believe Dressage extensions also will do it. I was going to use her to adjust a Kieffer jump saddle that I had.

I started a thread a while ago where I listed the various places that I found that adjust Kieffers. I think I included prices too–they vary all over the place. I think “quickest” will depend on how busy the shop is at the time. I think Dressage Extensions had a pretty quick turnaround. Also used someone on the East Coast, maybe Smith Worthington? Somehow my saddles still are too wide, need a shimmed half pad.

Results will depend on your wither tracing. The tracing I did was very different than the one the saddle fitter did…

Thanks, I’ll look for it! I don’t necessarily mean “quick” as in “i want it back next week” since I can’t currently ride right now anyways, but I don’t want it sitting somewhere for 3 months either.

Pelham saddlery may still adjust trees.

Pelham does not adjust the Kieffer trees. Or at least they didn’t when I asked last year.
