Okay, so my Bartville 5 point breastplate arrived and this evening I did a prelim fitting with the mare but now I have a question. Do I put the lower side attachments just below my girth buckles- like on the elastic where it ties into the leather of the girth?? That make sense and gave me a mostly straight line. :sadsmile:
I keep mine down quite low but make sure they’re still on the saddle flap so there’s no chance of it rubbing against the horse. I love them and will eventually replace all my “normal” breastplates with the 5-point ones. 
Okay, I will have to go back and readjust the fit. As is, keeping the line straight (on my Passier saddle) the breastplate’s lowest side strap rest directly against the mare’s side. I did like the extra stability the breastplate seemed to give my saddle even though I didn’t get a chance to ride in it. FTR, this is a Connemara who is rubenesque in her shape.
