Adorable amazing Donkey

I have had my donkey since he was a yearling and he is almost 20 now. He is the best horse babysitter, barn buddy and all around guy. You can trim his feet with no halter and he is kid broke to death. He tolerates all my animals even on his back! The only thing he does not like is vaccinations and who can blame him. He is more like a dog and a true member of the family. Sharing some pics and video. Does anyone else have amazing donkeys? Share you stories!!

OMG the dog and cat riding him! What is his name?

Meet Dixie, the farm MVP. I got her as a feral weanling for $50 from my then-landlord’s friend. She’s 12 now.

She immediately became an emotional support donkey for needy thoroughbreds:

These days, she is my four year old son’s “pony:”

I would take a thousand of her. Best donkey ever!

We have a mini donkey too that’s so special! My husband bought her at Equine Affaire like 12 years ago- she was 5 months lol. She’s the kindest, sweetest soul- loves people, gentle and patient with kids.

She hates dewormer and getting bathed. But she loves being clipped, groomed, and stands so quiet for the farrier haha.

My husband and her are best of friends. They sit together in the pasture or in the barn- she’ll either lay her head on him or turn her butt to get her butt scratched. She’ll stand to get brushed by kids forever, she’ll let them drag her all over the farm. She lives with my 30 year old mini and 13 year old Gypsy. She loves them to pieces.

We even brought her to an elementary school years ago- my MIL was the principal and she did a reading challenge and told the kids she would kiss a donkey if they hit their goal.

I can’t imagine not having a lil donkey on the farm.

I love your donkey. We call mine Donkey. Or B-Donks. He actually has a registered name but we don’t use that. I think they are the most amazing animals.
