Advanced Combined Test At Landrover Kentucky

I just got an email that they are running and Advanced Combined test at Landrover Kentucky this year. Tentatively dressage Friday AM and Showjumping before the 5* showjumping in the big Rolex area.

What an awesome idea for those who are not quite ready for the big 5*, but get to experience the thrill that is Landrover.

I’m guessing this is to help with the selection trials, or maybe a prep for those headed to Badminton?

I am really really wishing I was going down this year, going to be an really good competition I think

How cool! I’ve always wanted to go to see this event but, as someone coming from the west coast, it’s an expensive trip. Wonder if it’s just going to be a one time thing (like you mentioned, selection trials) or if they are going to do it every year. Id imagine a lot of it depends on participation and amount of spectators.

You said tentative schedule is dressage Friday then show jumping before the 5*…does that mean they would do dressage Friday, have a “break” Saturday (xc day for Land Rover, still so hard to not write Rolex 🤦🏼”â™€ï¸) and jump Sunday morning? Or they’d jump saturday?

Yes, they would have a day off. So I assume the riders would do autographs, etc that day, then ride Sunday before the big finale.

It’s a good way to stretch out Sunday - I’m not complaining since I drove home after stadium and got home at a reasonable enough time, but with the lower number of entries (and the way xc was eating people last year), stadium flewwww by. It’s also smart - a lot of these riders will already be in Lexington, they might as well bring along some of the “greener” horses in their string or like you said Jealoushe, do final touches with anyone they were saving for Badminton. Can’t wait - it really is a fun weekend!
