Adventures in Donkey Rescue

My morning! Waiting on animal control to come figure out how to get these two to safety. Not sure if they belong to the city or our bad neighbor who seemingly doesn’t care if their cows roam on other people’s property. He’s had a lot of calls for cows out on the road.

And how lovely…the dark one is a stud too. When we first moved in and saw them on the property we prioritized a fence……I have mares and wasn’t going to risk it.

They keep getting closer:

They are sure cute! Good luck!!!

Well, it was a bit anticlimactic. Donkey’s wandered back onto the city property just before animal control came. But they stuck around to go neener neener so we didn’t come off as crazy. We gave animal control the city property manager’s number and the bad neighbor’s number.

Donkey owner is the bad neighbor. Anyway, it’s between the city, the county, and the bad neighbor for now……until the next time. Now that they’ve learned there is a pathway…

Mostly, I just wanted to share cute donkey pics….

DONKEYS! I love donkeys.

Those donkeys look like they need some serious help with weight management… I’m glad you were able to keep them from terrorizing your crew!

I’m glad they just hung out and didn’t try to go around us and get onto the road. That brush is not fun. The fence must have been damaged when they cleared out the electrical lines.
