Does anyone here have any suggestions as to where to advertise a good hunt horse? (This is not an ad, I promise! I just need to know where to advertise). I have a mare that I hunted a couple of years ago and she’s just fabulous. She has been at Midland for the past couple of months hunting, but she is coming home in a couple of weeks and I need to sell her. Most hunt people I know buy horses through word of mouth. So what online resources are popular for someone shopping for an experienced foxhunter? I do not hunt anymore, and I’m afraid when the mare comes home she’ll be out of the hunting loop and I’ll have a hard time selling her since I don’t hunt anymore. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 
Foxhunters On Line is a very good place, too. You are probably right about getting her availablity “known” while she is still in a hunting mode. Most buyers want to hunt them or at least see them hunt.
The problem is that buyers are scattered across the country. The chances of you being near a potential buyer are small (where are you BTW?). How would you proceed if you had someone interested 1000 miles away from you?
The “word of mouth” method works so well because this almost guarantees the horse is owned by someone in your hunt or a nearby one.
