Has anyone gotten a refund for the entry paid to the USEA for the AEC’s? Sure could use the money at this point!
I’ve been waiting too.
Will they send checks, or do they have a way to put it back on a card?
I paid my entry online (Xentry) with a card, and emailed 8/17 asking when to expect refunds. This was the response on 8/19:

I had read on one the area’s website, xentry does not have the ability to offer refund back to a card. The money goes to the USEA who has to refund it back to the secretary. And they will send refund checks out.
I received a refund on my credit card. I did not have to call them.
When did that show up?
I received the same exact response, but on 8/13.
I think it was around 8/17.
I checked my credit card activity and the refund was on 8/13/20. I had just charged it on 8/8/20, so maybe that’s why they were able to get it credited on my credit card?
You’re fortunate. I would have much preferred that it just went back on my card, rather than waiting around for a refund check that I’ll have to deposit and then transfer to pay to my CC :no: I would have thought it would be much easier than them processing and mailing 600+ checks, but

@iris2006 Actually, I’m going to reply to that email and ask her exactly why I’m waiting on a check for a month when others (because you can’t possibly be the only one) have received a direct CC refund. That’s odd and I really want to know.

We received our refund check today.
credit card transaction usually have a withdraw / retract window. If you cancel an order within a certain amount of time, it can be recycled. After the window is closed it is up to the vendors arrangement.
The entry app does not have a direct option for the show organizers and they have to do it the old fashion way. SInce the money did not go directly into the organizers account, they have to wait for the vendors money to clear, they turn around and process the audit to return checks.
Certainly a downside for a show entry system app that is more generic and not one of the show managements own design.
