We’re still praying and jingling for you. I am constantly amazed by your strength. Just know that if good thoughts count for anything you guys will win this battle!
Ok I got you all beat… I’m at a christmas party asking the host to use the PC every 15 mins to check for updates… still praying and now so is everyone at my party . They now all know the story too. Little Aiden is touching so many lives, please god let him get through this!!!

Where I bought a BRAND NEW REALLY PRETTY German silver (or something) curb chain. We picked it over the “plain” silver because it has a very pretty jingle.
(We use a snaffle, by the way.)
I’m so excited about my new curb chain and the very first jingle was for Aiden!
I know Aiden still has some work ahead of him, but the last update is SO encouraging. I’m hoping that Joey and Lisa will be able to hold him in their loving arms again very soon.

Oh Rolex: such fine liver numbers!!! Wowee…but from me, the doc, maybe the surgeon wants to decrease pain meds to see how other things are working…just a thought…you know, on the meds, it might mask difficulties and/or suppress breathing and any mental changes might not be obvious and it is possible the surgeon wants to make sure those things are moving along too. Just a thought. But he should explain his actions to you so YOU understand and if they don’t make sense, then you are more than right to challenge.
Of course, I usually turned to the nurses when I wanted advice (ha ha, the truth is out). In those situations, they are the ones 24/7 with their little patients, so they always helped me, the one with the BIG degree.
As for the curb chain - just to make you laugh - I was an med student when Reagan was shot and he was treated at our hospital, which became a swarm of secret service men. After Reagan was treated in the ER and then moved to the whole top floor of the hopspital, it was discovered that his WALLET was missing! Can’t tell you how funny it was watching all the balck suited secret service agents go through EVERY piece of laundry in the hospital! Whew what a job. I don’t know if they ever found it!
Sooo, with luck, they’ll find the curb chain - but we all sure can get you another one or two to jingle on!
It sounds like he is doing just grand!
it ain't over till its over
Crossing my fingers and toes that knowonder is a match. Good luck.
…Wonder FORUM!! I am so amazed at all the support Lisa, Joey, Aiden, Sara, the donor and family, and everybody else involved is receiving. I’m with you guys…seeing things like this makes me think that the world really is a great place.
Humans aren’t about bombs and terrorism and mass destruction…they’re about what’s happening right now to special people like the Hawks.
<<OKay last night our little cub slept beautifully. The first night in 4 days (that sounds weird) Aiden slept peacefully and did not have to be bagged or have any alarms go off, or sounds, or nurses rushing in. I slept for 4 hours!! Joey too!! >>
HALLELUJAH!
What a great start to the New Year!
Yay baby Aiden!
Yay Hawks!
Aiden is obviously surrounded by Lions and Hawks and Giraffes…so im adding my daughter’s personal Totem, the Elephant.
She had her precious Tonto for so many years, she would be embarrassed now (tee hee) if I said when they parted company.
’
I bought her an exact brother to Tonto, but she said that the brother was not for her…so he sat on her shelf, a Velveteen Rabbit before his time.
And she is SO right!
Tonto II, most faithful sidekick, was obviously waiting for his own special friend!
Yay baby Aiden!
OMG this is such goooood news… jingle, jingle, jingle… for Knowonder Woman and Aiden (at home with Daddy)
Be strong you guys… praying really hard now!!!

I too have been silently following this thread with tears running down my face throughout the weekend. This morning’s update made my Christmas!
Jingling with my fingers crossed here too!

I’m sending the gifts anyway, and YOU CAN’T STOP ME . I’ll put it this way–If I hadn’t gone baby shopping I would have spent the money on snacks, and then I would have had a grumpy Weight Watchers leader on Saturday morning. This way I had the fun of shopping, I get to send another present, AND Chris won’t send me dirty looks when I get on the scale and the number have gone up instead of down.
What if the Hokey Pokey IS what its all about?
(aim for the surgeon). There has been a lot of literature in the last 5 years about how young children are typically under medicated for pain. Ask one of the nurses to do a subject search of the lit for you. Then put your Xena suit on and show it to the surgeon.
I have had alot of experience (some direct but most with my son) with Albuterol. It makes you really hyper. If an active, spunky kid is physically restricted and has breathing treatments, it is like feeding a TB alfalfa 3x a day with grain for dessert. He will be wired But don’t worry, Albuterol isn’t painful, it feels good. Ask the RT if you can try it with a nebulizer if the mask bugs him too much. That is what we did with my son.
Keep us posted.
Honey you’ve got me beat hands down–I can’t begin to tell you what your email did for my morale that day!
I owe you a big hug!
