A friend of mine from the Aiken area is missing her young lab. She was paralyzed last year and is training this dog for a helper.

Comes up “Content currently unavailable.” If you can get a pic and description up, I’ll pass it along. She must have posted on Aiken Pets Reunited? I think that’s what it’s called. Also, she should know that both the City and County shelters are not good at owners calling about lost dogs and receiving any info about someone calling in looking for their dog. I picked a dog up out of the road a few months ago and notified the shelters. The owner was told at both when he called that they had received no calls re someone finding that dog. It was a purebred Boxer, so obviously easy to write down. Given that, she should have someone physically go and look at the shelters for her dog and speak to the staffs in person regarding found calls. If the dog is turned into County, it will only have 5 days before it’s euthanized. I don’t know if City even gives them that. I’m sure she’s notified all of the vets in the area and passed along the chip info just in case. Tough situation for sure. I hope she finds her dog.
She was due to be spayed and microchipped on tuesday, unfortunately.

Make posters with her info and photo and put them into EVERY mailbox along EVERY road within a mile of the loss. The lost dog situation in Aiken is deplorable. I think the only way you’ll find her is to tell every single person you can find. Put posters up in the tack shops, super markets, movie theater, everywhere you can think of, including the entrances to the Hitchcock Woods and in their office. Best of luck.
