Aiken Tack Exchange as a consignor?

Curious if any consignors have had issues with Aiken Tack Exchange after their items have sold? Do they do a good job of keeping track and sending checks out in a timely manner?

I have some higher end saddles and misc items I want to sell. I’m just trying to avoid places that don’t pay up when your items have sold.

There are so many consignment options out there right now. I really don’t want to choose one that I need to chase down.

Any input, even if it’s recommending other consignment stores, is really appreciated. I don’t do ebay anymore or have facebook.

I am not familiar with Aiken Tack Exchange, but for saddles check out Highline Tack www.highlinetack.com – Susy is awesome to deal with. I sold a saddle through her, and I have friends who have been both buyers and sellers. Typically sells within a month and has the lowest commission of anyone I found. Plus her communication is super. I was extremely pleased, as were the friends I recommended her to.

I have sold 2 saddles through Aiken Tack Exchange. The first time I didn’t bother with getting a check as I sold a jump saddle that I had not used in years and a few other items. I used the credit to buy a dressage saddle.

More recently I sold one in mid-March. The check went out about 3 weeks later that I was originally told it would but I understand things are a bit weird during the whole Covid-19 thing. Plus 3 weeks really isn’t bad. It included money for about 5 other things that sold as well.

The first saddle she sold for me sat at one place for 10 months without selling, then went out on consignment with a local independent saddle fitter for about 6 months. Aiken Tack sold it within 3 months. It was a very unique saddle so was always going to be a tough sell

More recent saddle was sent to Aiken in late January. So sold in about 2 months. It did take a long time to show up on her website. But she sold it locally and the prior one sold locally. The prior one never hit her FB or website but still sold.

He communication can be a bit tough. But I would not hesitate to send another saddle to her fto sell.

We usually just keep a credit with them when we send things to sell but they’re on the up and up and they move a lot of merchandise. I might just set a calendar reminder to check in with them once a month but you’ll definitely get your money.
