Alabama hunt - contact info

I can’t find any contact info on what used to be the Midland Hounds hunt. I was a member years ago and have a young horse I’d like to hilltop with a couple of times this season. Any contact info would be appreciated!

Go to mfha.org and you can look up Hunts by state.

Midland is in Georgia.

I did look them up but the website is not working, so I can’t get any info. The Midland hunt used to be out of fitzpatrick and Columbus. I rode with them in the 70s.

The MFHA site appears to be fine now, but, yes, the Midland is in Georgia. Is it possible you’re thinking of the Mooreland near Huntsville? I don’t see contact information listed for them at the MFHA site (I might have missed it), but if it’s not there you might try Baily’s (www.bailyshuntingdirectory.com). And Googlemight be a help!

ETA: There’s a link on the MFHA site directly to Baily’s, too, if you aren’t a Baily’s subscriber.

And if you do mean the Midland …

Here’s their website; looks like you can send an e-mail there.

The Midland you are referring to still is based outside of Columbus and hunts around Fitzpatrick, Alabama as well. The e-mail on the website does not go to their hunt secretary, but it will go to a member who can steer you in the right direction. I am not a member, but I know several people who are and I believe the information posted on Baily’s is the best way to reach the right people.

Yep, it’s the Midland hunt, and I was PMed some info about who to email. I harken back to the days when Ben Hardaway still ran the show and Ted Hoffman and family hosted the best Stirrup Cup brunch in the country!

Bear Creek also has some nice fixture in Alabama. I was graciously given the opportunity to hunt with them last year.

Midland has some great country in Fitzpatrick and hunts their regularly. Mason Lampton (recent pres. of the MFHA) , Ben Hardaway’s son in law, is the MFH and his wife, Mary Lou leads second flight. It is a fantastic hunt. They have a lovely home in Fitzpatrick, a 20 stall stable and lots members, game, fun, and country. You should recontact them…They are super!!!
