So I’m in the market for a new to me saddle. My CWD doesn’t fit my broad shoulder mare. I don’t have a brand new saddle budget. My saddle fitter suggested an Albion Kontrol. Does anyone jump larger courses (1.30m +) in an Albion Kontrol? What do you think about it? Thank you!
I have an older Albion Kontrol (I purchased it in 2013 second hand and it would have been at least 5yrs old at the time). Mine is definitely a half seat.
I did a season at 1.10m, starting to step up to 1.20m when I switched to a true flat seat which I much prefer. Occasionally I’d really notice the cantle, especially schooling a bit bigger.
I kept it as a general use saddle and now it’s been repurposed for my big mare who also has massive shoulders. So far we’re only doing the small stuff but I think the balance point is actually better on her than it was on my gelding.
