Alimend v Equine Elixers for Stomach Comfort

Horse people with stomach product knowledge: my vet recommended Alimend https://cogentsolutionsgroup.com/products/alimend I’ve also heard a lot of good things about Equine Elixirs https://www.equineelixirs.com/ any perspectives on the two products?

I have some not so definitive anecdotal information for you. I only have experience with Alimend.

I have one on Alimend. He wasn’t a severe case or anything, however. So it’s hard to say how much it helps. I’m going to start my true diagnosed horse on it when he is done with his other powders. Two anecdotes: Friend of mine was a groom in a barn where a horse had chronic low grade colic. Put him on Alimend. Colic stopped. Took away alimend, colic restarted. Another friend felt comfortable stopping her sucralfate and uses this instead. The vets with whom I spoke about this think the theory is good, and it should also help any hindgut ulcers as well. i have no idea if the studies they did were peer reviewed, but supposedly higher healing success rate than gastroguard.

Thanks!

Bumping up this thread. I am debating between the same two products, Alimend and Ulceraser.

Any other feedback out there?

Little late here, but there are studies supporting Alimend whereas, none as far as I know, thus far, for Ulceraser. http://veterinarynews.dvm360.com/two-studies-focus-gastric-ulcer-treatments-horses https://www.j-evs.com/article/S0737-0806(16)30495-6/abstract I have had mine on it for 1 yr now. Very outwardly calm, quiet, good minded mare but internal worrier/over achiever.
