I’ve got one! I got her when she was just 5, luckily they had waited to race her until she was 4, and then only a few times before retiring. She was the easiest horse ever to teach ground manners to, and she’s so sweet and smart. She figured out the basics quite easily, and xc came very easily to her mentally, very bold and thoughtful. She also is a little downhill, so developing her canter was a bit of a challenge, but she managed to jump well the entire time even when getting that balanced. She was never intentionally naughty, and struggles would be if she was confused or trying too hard to do the right thing and she’d work herself up a little, but I’ve never had a horse that had more try than her.
She unfortunately had a back injury so is basically retired at 13, but before that she was schooling preliminary XC easily, and was hoping for a move up within a few months. She just had a beautiful filly last year and was the best mom-so easy to be around and laid back, hopefully she’ll have another in a few more years as well.
Have fun with yours, and post pictures!
