Due to a soft tissue injury in one of my horses, I’ve made changes to my usual horse care routine, and my two horses are spending a lot more time stalled in inclement weather to keep the injured one from walking through mud.
My horses are used to 24/7 turnout and the non-injured one is stocking up behind after 12+ hours in. Swelling goes down almost immediately when turned out, but I wonder if I should be wrapping him. The problem is I hate wrapping. I’m not great at it, so it takes me a couple tries to make it perfect.
I’m sure I could resolve that issue by wrapping more often, but does anyone have any alternatives to standing wraps? Would stable boots be a good alternative?
