Hello folks! My jumper is headed home after a few months away in Aiken (I was going to sell him as an event prospect but my hunter is having some issues so I’m having him sent home for the winter at least). He’s currently thriving on Tribute Feeds Kalm 'N Fit, which isn’t available through the local feed store. He’s a hot, hard keeping TB and he does so well on this stuff that I’m looking for something similar. Around here, our local feed store carries just about any Nutrena, Purina, Blue Seal, or Triple Crown feed, so I’m looking for something on one of those lines. He was eating Nutrena Pro Force Fuel the last time he was up north, and while he did fine on it, I’m not sold that it is the “best” fit for him. I will be doing my own research as well, but I figured that someone on here might have a good suggestion for a comperable grain off the top of their head? Pelleted or textured is fine.
The product that I can always rely on is the Daily Essentials from Buy 707. It comes in oat-sized pellets that’s so easy to feed to horses. They have the right combination of all essential vitamins and minerals so there’s absolutely nothing I need to worry about. They’re great for travel too. https://buy707.com/product/daily-essentials-fresh-packs/
I’ve also used their calming supplements for some of my hyperactive horses and they’ve really given me great results. https://buy707.com/product/calming-fresh-packs/.
Read the ingredients and guaranteed analysis of the Tribute KNF and try to find a product that closely matches it. If you post that information, someone may be able to recommend a product that is similar.
Triple Crown Training looks comparable.
I love Kalm 'N Fit and am feeding it now. As it is high in fat and fiber, you can try Pro Force Fiber or Senior (Nutrena) or Pennfield Fibregized Omega (Nutrena has Pennfield’s feeds now). I’ve used both as substitutes waiting for an overdue order of the Tribute.
I tried a Blue Seal feed with a great label, and my horses all hated it. I tasted it, and it was like a pine pellet. Yuck!! The others are all more like muesli. Pretty tasty.
anyone know how many lbs a quart of Kalm n Fit is?
