Am I too big for this pony?

UPDATE: You guys, I bought her. I’m so happy

I’ve been pony searching for months and I finally found one I like. However, she’s quite small looking at 13.2. I’m 5’3, 100lbs. I’m wondering if I am too big for this pony or if I look ridiculous on her before I commit to buying her. Everyone there said I looked fine but I want unbiased opinions.

ETA: I have added a second photo from a different angle. I was posting in this pic though so I look a little taller than I would have if I was sitting. Thank you for all your comments! I’ll be making my decision with my trainer tomorrow.

Are you finished growing? I think you look lovely on her! Good luck with your decision.

@Limerick2017 I’m 23, stopped growing at like 12 haha. Thank you though!

She’s cute! If I’m being picky, you are a little tall in the upper body for her. You may just have to be a little more mindful of your hip angle and keeping your upper body independent over fences. But she takes up your leg well and it makes a nice picture! Get the pony!

I think you look just fine on her. Get the pony if she ticks all of your boxes!

She looks adorable, and you guys are a great pair! You don’t look too big at all.

You look fine to me. I do agree your upper body is a little tall (a problem I also have with my pony).

What are your plans to do with this adorable pony? Clearly if you want to do the hunter ring, this pairing will not work. But anything else you should be great.

@trubandloki I do ride at a Hunter barn and Eq is what I’ve always done at shows, however I’m not as in to showing as I was when I was younger and I just want something smaller and cute that I can have fun with. This pony is a blast to ride.

Then I say buy her!

If that’s the case, then yes, buy her. She’s cute as a button and you look fine. The only reason I would say don’t buy her is if you’re planning to do a lot of showing in the hunters because, as others have said, your upper body is a bit too tall to present that perfect picture.

I vote buy her & show when & if you want to.
Just tell yourself the prize is not the goal.
As others have said, your upper body interferes with the Perfect Picture a judge might see & penalize.
Not all judges, but there are some who will mark you down :expressionless:

Switch to the dark side - start eventing! We don’t care if your torso is too long (see, e.g. Mark Todd and Charisma or William Fox Pitt on pretty much any horse). LOL.

ETA: Also, I think your face in the second picture says it all.

Your upper body is a little tall on her, so you’ll have to watch your torso over jumps or if she gets squirrely but other than that, I think you look just fine. She looks like a fun little thing to play around with, and if that’s your goal then I’d scoop her up!

As someone with a long torso, I have to be more careful on everything, regardless of the height of the horse :woman_shrugging: So get the pony :unicorn::heart::unicorn::heart::unicorn::heart:

It would be hard to pass by anything that can put that big a smile on your face!

Pon-EEE! Pon-EEE! :joy:

I’m no help. I’m slightly shorter & 15 lbs heavier than you & obsessed with a 13h “pocket rocket” we saw an ad for while searching for a division pony for my daughter. Wildly unsuitable for that purpose. But I want to buy it for me & do 2’ speed stakes or something on it. If that even exists for grown ups!

Congrats on your new pony! You look great on her, and love the smile! Signed, a grown-ass adult who adores her pony :unicorn:
