There is a genetics lab in California called Etalon. They do a lot of research. They have a $99 mini panel that does color, including all 30-something dominant white genes. Pattern. Health and behavior which looks at a variety of diseases. I know now after 20 years my horse is n/n for HYPP and has 2 copies of the curiosity gene. That explains a lot. He has sprint genes so I would have lost money if I had raced him beyond 8 furlongs. I had the color done at UC Davis but they don’t do as much with colors and patterns and no health/behavior. My gelding is a sabino Paint but doesn’t have the Sb gene. The pattern shows up in other breeds. I think there is something hiding somewhere. He has one copy of lethal white overo and one copy of W20. If that is all you need to get a sabino there should be one on every corner looking for a home.
