Amazing deal on a Black Country

Stumbled across this, and wanted to share: http://www.whitehorsetack.com/used-18-black-country-dressage-saddle/

I am almost half way tempted for myself, but I don’t think a wide would be wide enough.

It’s likely the brown leather+ivory surge fabric combo on an older discontinued model that has negatively influenced the price.

Here is a link to what looks like the same saddle, and in this ad is a link to the saddle on ebay. The ebay auction expired with no bids, if you click on ‘original listing’ you can look at more views of the saddle.

It is priced at what it is worth.

I think it does look like a steal! It’s lovely.

I like it too. The serge panels are interesting. If I didn’t have an almost new dressage saddle (also in brown–I love brown!) I would be very tempted.

I have a Black Country with serge and the horses love it. It’s much softer and more breathable than leather panels. This saddle would be a great option for someone on a budget.

Brown is coming back into style. There were at least two riders at Rolex this year in brown dressage saddles. The surge panels are a bit of an odd color, I have seen brown BCs with brown surge panels.

Anyway, I thought it was a great deal for somebody on a tight budget, but wanting a quality, name brand saddle.

I hope it finds a worthy home.

Imagine what it would be selling for if it was all black? Shows how important it is to consider resale value when ordering something custom.

Yep, black will always be more popular. I, personally, have a huge love affair with brown dressage tack, however black looks pretty harsh on my chestnut, I much prefer her in brown tack.
