Amber Hill Ponies

Centered,

(In some cases more useful to google than ask a question here. It can seem like a club more interested in celebrating its status than sharing what it knows. )

Amber Hill and it’s owner are so notorious in the industry I think the understandable first reaction to the post (particularly since it’s the first post of a new member) is that it was trolling.

Maybe the OP does genuinely want information about this facility. If so, several people have helpfully provided links to good information.

If not, I don’t think you can call people to task for being skeptical. It would be a bit like going on a cycling forum as a brand new member and asking people what they know about how to conceal steriod use.

More like asking if LA would be a good personal cycling coach for your child.

Figured this was a back to school, last train wreck of summer attempt. Don’t see that many are jumping on it.

ROFL.

Thank you, f8. That is the better analogy.

I think it’s a good thing to keep bringing up. A bit after the hubbub had died down, Amber Hill must have sponsored a bunch of ads on FB because I suddenly had a bunch of friends liking their page. I made a post about it and they all unliked the page, claiming they had no idea that that was them. The more people that we can educate, the better!

For posterity.

“Would they be a good environment” means…what? Just in case OP is asking an innocent question.

Have to go to the market in a bit, will pick up some avocados fir guacamole.
I think you meant “enviroment.”

Be sure to get some of those really good chips. A good chip really adds to even the best guacamole, don’t you think?

** Very interesting timing! You might want to hold off with sending your horses there.

Coincidentally, I just recently had the full AHF “experience”, it was quite an eye opening journey.

I am a little tied up right now, however please keep an eye on this thread as there will be some interesting revelations coming.

Further, one might wish to friend Ash Shannon or Doni Biggs on social media and follow a recent occurrence relating to AHF.

Hi.

I was wondering what people thought of Amber Hill Ponies and their training? I understand what happened in the past, do they still do that? Would they be a good enviroment?

Thanks
I’m not sure what you are asking? Are the ponies in a good environment? Is it a good environment to put your child/pony in? Would it be a good summer camp environment?

But I believe the answer to all of the above is as follows: If the leopard repeatedly shows you he has spots, why would you think that would change?

Our first house guest?? Ok, now I’m hopeful again, but this seems so set up!

Did come across her name on Facebook recently, clearly worming her way into some Deep South HJ communities. Had to hold onto my monogrammed pearls and double up on the Maker’s Mark when I saw that y’all. So this actually could be a newbie or parent whose question is in earnest. All I can say is bless your heart honey, I mean OP. Run the other way. This sport, this sport…

oh yeah, one quick glance on fb at the names listed here, and we got ourselves a full blow houseguest situation. Seriously people, I have some mind numbing, boring-but-important work to do, I shouldn’t be distracted like this… but please, DO go on

I was looking at the July sport horse auction and was disappointed when I realized there were a LOT of ponies from AHF listed. Yuck.

Wait, I read that post to mean those two people had a bad experience with AHF. The Doni person speaks of a tortorous (sic) Seller experience in N. GA on a recent purchase. Perhaps they bought a horse from AHF and are lucky to get out alive? (that’s how I read Ashley_K’s post at least. Houseguest, perhaps, but it didn’t come off that way to me.)

From FB:

Would like to say a hearty Congratulations to these super clients on their purchase of this lovely import, CRISTALLO’S CARLCHEN P. Despite a tortorous Seller experience in N. GA, we all hung in there

edited to add: looking at AHF’s For Sale page and yes, the same horse that Doni’s client’s purchased is listed as for sale by AHF. I’m guessing my read is correct.

Yes, please keep it going. What a coincidence two first time posters are involved…but on which side?

I do have wonderful chips for my guacamole. Get them at WF, Frontera “small batch”, celebrity chef backed. It’s a light blue bag, they also have a Lime version in a light green bag. Really are exceptional even if pricey. Think I have a tetra pak of Chard around someplace too.

Always remember it’s not the fault of the Ponies and they do deserve better. Name changes aren’t that expensive so they can leave it all behind.

rugbug, that’s what I read as well.

Person has or knows of a bad experience with AHF (quel shock), comes to COTH and tosses out a vague inquiry to see what hits.

COTH, jaded as ever, replies with “This is news? Have you been under a rock the last 5 years?”

Houseguest quickly recruited to give COTH (it’s an amorphous identity at this point) a few handy hints on where to look since it was not picking up on the general direction quickly enough. Hijinks ensue (or I certainly hope they do)

no, that’s what I read as well.

I dunno, it’s a tired subject to rehash on a muggy summer day.

Should think that tortuous PV thread would be a better choice for educational value since it dealt with so many closer to the top looking to be compensated for dead animals instead of the AH debacle. Hasn’t been referred to or bumped up in quite some time and wouldn’t need to pretend ignorance under an alter to bring it to light again.

Oh…you mean Ashley_K is the OP’s houseguest…not an AHF houseguest. D’oh…

My understanding of houseguest is fairly narrow: I limit them to supporting whack jobs, not supporting possibly naive newbies.

Doubt OP is a naive newbie

oooh, we could get into a sidebar on houseguests. I think of them as FoOPs - Friends (houseguests) of OPs. Of course the good ones ARE supporting nutters, but not always.

The best ones are when the OP has houseguests and the OP’s subject matter has houseguests, you know, kinda like jillwhatsername in CA. Good times, good times…

i think of them as FOTF… Friends Of The Fruitbat…

anyway… chips and guac waiting for me at home, plus SO has a nice cizer (it’s a real thing… think cider) stashed in the fridge for a crisp refresher. Carry on!
