American Eventing Championships 2024

Both were at the B element, after jumping into the water and back on grass. Quicksilver looked like he just ran out of space and stopped, but Shanroe flipped over it. Hope shes alright!
Edited for clarity

I wondered the same thing. But then, too, it is a championship?

I think that alternatives aren’t habitually shown in course previews. Could be wrong!

this isn’t TV though, it’s a subscription service for horse shows. Not the same at all.

But I still think it should follow the rules for the level. Otherwise, you could see a 3’ jump on a BN course, but we don’t because the rules for the levels are followed. Right??

The photos I saw where not good enough to see if there was a black line on the flag or not. If I could see that black line for an option, I wouldn’t question it.

I consider the same as Disney +, Peacock ,etc. They too have commercials.

Maybe they should offer a higher price service with out commercials, but having commercials on a subscription service does not seem weird at all, in my opinion.

really isn’t the same though imo, it’s a hobby focused service of live streams.

Anyways here’s the update on LH

It says in the omnibus to expect ditches/banks/water at all levels which makes me think there is not an option.

Just received confirmation there is no option for the ditch/water on Starter.

shit, I hope she’s ok.

Another unofficial source said that once at the hospital/facility they’ve determined nothing is broken but they are still doing tests (I imagine some brain imaging but wasn’t given specifics)

Is that legal? Is there an exception for championship courses where they don’t follow the same rules for the level?

Curious! I just looked at the rules from USEA and they say “There should be an option for a ditch and water crossing if a ditch or water jump is part of the course” — rather than there must be. Then page 2, “If used, an option should be provided.”

They use “must” and definitive heights etc in other rules. I’m by no means an expert but assume they used “should” deliberately rather than “must”?
