American Saddlebred Sporthorse breeders?

Not sure I’m loving the fact that it paces under saddle though. This saddlebred would do well in the gaited world, looks to have the talent for it (and I’m saying this as a saddlebred lover).

He’s been taught to rack…ie, the rider specifically cued him to rack, and since he was taught that cue and gait, he did. But he also does pure W/T/C. So, not a ‘gaited’ horse because he naturally is W/T/C, just has training for another gear…The bonus is, if you don’t want the rack, don’t push that button…his gaits are otherwise perfectly normal W/T/C.

The plusses? He is attractive, and seems kind and forward. But then, I’ve never know an ASB who wasn’t !

He doesn’t have much of a walk, and to go along with that, his canter is way too lateral. I also do not like the lower limb deflection. His trot is oily, but you can always fix a trot. A walk, not so much. And the canter? Hmmmm.

There are so many fantastic ASBs out there, but you have to know where to look, and you have to be ready to write a check.

I see the first part of his canter under saddle (coming directly towards camera) as mostly fine, maybe a little bit flat, but then its all baby, unbalanced, tension, high-head, spooking canter…so, a tough call. The little bit of semi-relaxed walk under saddle going away from camera, he tracks up. So, potential…but he’s got a list of interested party’s lining-up, so I think he’s on his way to greener pastures (yay!).

He’s grey. They’ll find him a home.
