Amigo blanket fit question

Has anyone got an opinion of disc closure front as compared to their regular closure. I have large warmbloods and find that an 84 is fairly tight and restrictive thru shoulders but an 87 hangs out the back end too much. Wondered if the plastic disc was a more comfortable fit for grazing with lowered head and neck than the three snap closure.

Probably should be looking at a different brand but love that amigos do not move around while being worn by my boys.

You can loosen the velcro a little bit but the fit is pretty much the same. What about the Amigo XL fit?

I noticed no difference in the chest width in my regular closure Amigos vs the disc one. Both fit extremely narrow and snug.

The disc one seems to close more of the blanket across the chest so there isn’t the gap between the neck rug and the blanket, but that’s the only big difference I noticed.

I had one gelding that was huge and everything was too tight on his neck/chest. I found the Amigo XL line worked great for him. It added the width and the drop of the blanket gave him more coverage without excess length. I had also emailed Horseware when all the stores were out of stock on the heavyweight of the XL in his size…they told me the Optimo line had a wider fit through the shoulder.

Amigo has the chest expander piece/attachment you can buy to give more room thru that area :).

Thanks for your input. Will look into the XL line and chest extender.

Me, too! I hate the disk. Thank you for this thread.
