Amigo Bravo 12 Wug questions / lying down?

I have purchased a new Amigo Bravo 12 Wug light for my older Russian Arab. I like the fit, especially the high neck for his prominent withers. He’s 25 yo and lives outside 24/7 with a nice-sized pasture and shed, by himself with views of other horses close-by. He has only had Schneider’s blankets in the past (which were pretty good but not great) and I am used to the shoulder gussets. The Wug does not have gussets and I have searched the web for pics/videos of horses lying down/getting up in Wugs but had no luck. Wug owners–any issues with bunching up of the Wug at the chest? Odd question, I know. Also, I tried the 69 and it seemed too small so I now have a 72. This one is shifting a little to one side… TIA.

My younger horse has a Rhino Wug. No issues with him lying down, rolling or acting like a bronco. I don’t have any issues with it bunching up front, mine is more likely to slide back if I don’t set it up just right. Mine does not shift. I’m paranoid about too loose belly straps though so keep mine rather snug.

I have a Rhino Wug and it fits nicely. It does have a tail strap that is attached to the underside of the tail flap, I put the tail through it and it really helps keep it even. I also always make sure to do the middle belly surcingle first which supposedly helps keep it straighter which must help since the Wug is always perfectly even. My horse does like to lay down a lot too

My Fjord has a 400gr one although it doesn’t get used as much since I bought a 250 gr bravo last season, but like all 6 of my bravos, they don’t move and there’s a lot of rolling, running, bucking, sleeping and cavorting… (TB retiree has 2, the Fjord is clipped so he has ALL the weights, much to his dismay, I’m sure)

I have a gelding that only wears Rhino Wugs. They never bunch or shift on him and he really likes a good laying down sleep in his stall, so no problems getting up or down. I have also seen him roll in his turnouts, and still no problems with getting up or down or with shifting.

I have this, specifically the Amigo Bravo 12 line, and I have no issues with them.

My horses have never had issues lying down in their Wugs. However I have one Rambo midweight Wug bought second hand because the previous owner’s horse couldn’t (or wouldn’t) get back up - she thought the lack of shoulder gussets was the problem, and after her BO had to rescue him 2-3 times she decided to sell the blanket. Bonus for me!

I too keep my belly straps short though I do the middle one over the crossed ones.
