The seeming nonchalance about him STARVING TO DEATH over winter is what really gets me. Ugh. What the hell???

I’m not sure if you were confused about the chinchilla part but there is a rabbit breed called chinchilla. If I recall correctly they were bred for fur. They aren’t a hybrid of chinchilla/rabbit. Just the name.

That’s hilarious. Sainty horse seems not to mind.

Okay, I had to resurrect this thread. I found the funniest ad I’ve seen in a while. In case they delete it, it is:

Champion Race horse - $73000

I am selling me champion stallion named Dixie. She placed 1st and 2nd two years back to back in the Kentucky Derby. She has been well taken care of and really needs a new home. Since I live on this ranch in Hollywood, I don’t have the time Ide like to spend with her. 73,000 asking price but willing to negotiate if the buyer is attractive. No less than 70,000. Thanks!

Actual ad with photo: http://nashville.craigslist.org/grd/5064796978.html

A “she” with … parts! And raced in the Derby not once, but TWICE! I’m so impressed!! This has got to be a phishing ad or something.

Sleuths, what horse is pictured? Has to be a famous horse from probably some years ago.

Never mind, pretty easy to do some sleuthing myself. It’s Noor Charge.

Noor Charge, who we owned and stood at stud for many years. Noor Charge, SI 92 was sired by the black stallion, Tiny Charger, SI 100 x Depth Charge, TB, AQHA Hall of Fame. Noor Charge retired completely sound after running at Los Alamitos for five years with famed trainer, D’Wayne Lukas. Noor Charge’s dam was the AAAT mare, Noorella x Horse of the Year and track record setter, Noor, tb. Noor at age five is the only horse to have beaten two Triple Crown horses, Citation and Assault on the track.

More editing – Noor is pretty interesting. He lived to 29, was buried in California in an unmarked grave, but when a mall was going to built over his grave site, a fan started a petition to find his grave, managed to find him and get him moved to Old Friends Dream Chase Farm Cemetery.

Why clutter up Craigslist with ads like this? Who knows.

Now that is impressive!! I would love to respond with questions just to see what else they can manage to come up with. It would make for some great entertainment.

Well here’s another one, but I’m posting mainly as a question.

http://prescott.craigslist.org/grd/5065475459.html
Great trail horse/retired rope horse - $1100 (Queen Creek)

Retired rope horse. Blue is a 15 year old AQHA appendix qh. 15.2 big and stout. He has been nerved on his right front, but is sound with proper shoeing. He will stand all day to rope the dummy and track it… Sound trail horse, no spook, loads nice, stands for the farrier and bathes, loves attention.
Chiropractor says he fine to rope off occasionally as a back up horse, but he’s probably better off just trail riding.

I’m not sure I’d take a horse on trail that had been nerved. IMO, trail is where he needs to be more sure-footed. Am I wrong?

I don’t know about that … does seem rather problematic. What is the prognosis of a nerved horse? Good for them for keeping him productive.

He’s basically three-legged, right? He can’t feel his foot? Also sounds like he has more issues than the foot, if the chiro is involved.

What a wonderful story! A great ending for a great horse. Three cheers for the fan that led the way to finding him. Woot, woot, woot

I’m so impressed! Can you tell me how you found him by this picture?

Search google for this image. Came up on a QH farm website as Noor Charge. They said something about Noor, so I looked him up.
