An Open Letter by Georgina Bloomberg

Hey “Enjoy the Ride” - you write that no horseman wears spurs or carries a crop and then put a link to “weanie eventer’s” blog spot - the first thing you see on the blog are pictures of riders with crops!

Except even in the letter it still clearly seems to state that if that blood is coming from marks made by your spurs it’s an “elimination” if deemed accidental, and “disqualification” if due to excessive use of spurs.

can not quote but the letter from AnnieGs post

Art 241 Elimination: Blood on the horse’s flank caused unintentionally by the athlete’s leg will be penalised by elimination; minor cases of blood on the flank will not incur elimination. Art. 242 Disqualification: Marks and/or blood on the horse’s flank as a result of an excessive use of the spur(s) will be penalised by disqualification.

Yeah, @Jealoushe that’s what I was referring to also. Maybe others read it differently, but I read it as you still can’t jab a hole in your horse’s side. It sounds like the incidental blood on flanks has to be clearly unrelated to the rider.
