And the images start coming out.....

Don’t tar everyone with the same brush. Here’s Laura Bechtolsheimer warming up. She came second in the GP, was only 1 mark off Totilas according to one of the judges and she might, just might, sneak the gold medal tomorrow in the Special. I want to ride like her.

Am sort of head over heels in love with this gelding

I was more appalled by the just plain bad riding on really good horses. Glad to see other countries participate, but ouch, those bouncing hands and busy bodies were just so distracting and at times painful to watch as you could see the horse just shutting down in the movement.
And in general, the LDR riders often had their horses more open in the frame and out to the bridle than the “lesser” riders who relied on the curb to keep from bouncing out of the saddle. I know that might seem insensitive, but if we are going to talk about what was ugly at WEG, you have to be all inclusive. Not just vilify those that in the end have to work with what they have rather than buy their way in. And yeah, those Picts are ugly, but why are the Dutch horses in general so much more willing to motor from the hind end even though I don’t think any of them school with whips? Most horses react to too much restriction in the front, by going out the back door… Why then was Parcival just dancing off the hind end even after he had injured his tongue. He is a big horse though… Maybe his brain doesn’t reach that far.
